Meet Our Team

Le

I'm Le, an Artist from Auckland. My "One My Way" series explores various themes, from personal narratives to social commentary, blending art and storytelling together. One of my featured works, "Seven Twenty-four," is a story about my experience with childbirth and raising a child, capturing and documenting the emotional journey of a mother during the first month postpartum. Another "One the Way" series focuses on children, nature, and pets, reflecting the tranquility, natural beauty, and peaceful coexistence of humans, animals, and nature.

Katianne

My work has been exhibited and sold in galleries, and at the age of 19, I wrote, illustrated, and self-published a children’s book. Since leaving university, I have continued to develop my artistic practice while earning income through commissioned work. Over the years, I have worked with a range of art organisations, teaching both children and adults across the North Shore.
Prior to completing my degree, I spent many years supporting my family’s business, where I worked closely with children of all ages and gained over 10 years of hands-on experience in childcare. During school holidays, I also worked part-time assisting with holiday programmes, further strengthening my ability to engage with and support young people.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my toddler and participating in national and international art competitions.

She loves to knit and has started learning how to use her heirloom knitting machine to make cute knitwear for all her nieces and nephews https://www.mikinozomi.com/

Lachlan

Heyo. I'm Lachlan.  I've been a visual artist since I was very young. Drawing in my school books was something I never stopped doing while I was at school and it sparked my passion for arts as a whole!

I'm really trying to get into as many different forms of art as I can now. Getting to create and understand different forms of art and how one form can relate to another is something I find deeply interesting. Arts that I am currently practicing include flow arts(rope flow), watercolor, singing, marker line work, digital synthesis and in time, many more. Outside of the arts I really enjoy Skateboarding and climbing trees.

I'm very happy to be apart of this team of artists teaching young minds how to make their own art. I really believe that everyone should feel encouraged to explore a form of art to further express themselves in life. It's not emphasized enough but it is something we all need on some level!

Mareta

My name is Mareta Davidson. I am a Sāmoan/Celtic painter, mark-maker and māma based in Tauhinu/Greenhithe.

I graduated from the Elam School of Fine Arts in 2024. In my last year, I was a research assistant at Elam and an after-school caregiver at Willow Park Primary before I became a māma to my one-year-old daughter.

I love to paint with the senses and fully immerse myself in the process. I am familiar with many different painting and drawing materials. At the moment, I enjoy watercolour and oil pastels. I also sometimes delve into natural materials and soft sculptural shapes. My practice flows from my experience with the many worlds we interact with daily. I like to weave storytelling into an immersive painted world. I love to paint wāhine, creation stories, creatures, mythology, and imagine new worlds

At the moment, I am interested in the intersection of my sāmoan culture with the cosmic and natural world.
